“It was expected of me that I was to bow to the name of Andrew Jackson…even at the expense of my conscience and judgement, such a thing was new to me, and a total stranger to my principles.” – Davy Crockett
Here is some interesting questions that some other bloggers such as Kajagugu, Riggstad, and Waffles are doing so I thought I would join in.
1. Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post as The Controversial Survey?
Sure why not, might get the blog a little traffic.
2. Would you do meth if it was legal?
Absolutely not, I couldn’t bear to think of doing anything like this. See what it does to people and the thought of me in that condition trying to raise my girls or be with my wife is unthinkable as they come first.
3. Abortion: for or against it?
Tuff subject as I feel it is the woman’s choice, but also feel that men that want to have a say don’t have any say. I understand that there are a lot of men if not the majority of men don’t want that decision, but if it were to happen to me I would hope I would have some say it the process as it took to two people to create, why should it just take one to unmake?
4. Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
No. I do think it would be harder for a woman as they would be under such scrutiny being the first woman, just as the first black president will be. That is a lot of pressure and expectations to over come and might give the image of coming up short, but would lead the way to making it a more common.
5. Do you believe in the death penalty?
Yes.
6. Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Yes. If the government is going to allow cigarettes to be legal and they are known to be deadly, why is marijuana not?
7. Are you for or against premarital sex?
I understand why we have it, and just think it needs to be explained better to our youth. Sex/nudity is a naughty subject and not spoken about openly, I think if it were more acceptable to discuss and not feel ashamed that people would have safe sex. If they are unsure would be able to find the answer with out feeling like they need to hide or just guess. That’s the biggest problem with it is our social standards, were sex and nudity are more acceptable now but are still considered taboo. It’s a part of life, let’s treat it as so.
8. Do you believe in God?
God gives great comfort to people that have to feel there is a reason for their life outside of the scientific and basic nature, which is reproduction. The advancement of your species through repopulation. People want to believe that their life has a bigger meaning and that they matter, whether good or bad. As for me the jury is still out.
9. Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
This question ties directly into the last one. The majority of people that believe in God believe that same sex marriages are unholy. If you’re open minded then you probably think that it’s fine. Some even say its fine as long as you call it something else like a civil union. When this became a big subject I believed that it shouldn’t. The more I thought about it I realized that was pretty closed minded, but still thought it should be called something different as I felt it tarnished the word and belief of marriage. Currently my thoughts are what does it matter who’s marrying who? The government should have no business regulating this, as it is our freedom that allows us to live or life and if we censor one spot that leads to more, give an inch take a mile. I think my thoughts on now are I believe that our right to freedom to choice our lives are more important then whether we think these marriages are acceptable, so I’m for legalizing them, because its ultimately our choice to live our lives any way we see fit, if it doesn’t endanger some one else.
10. Do you think it’s wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
I think its wrong for anybody to move here illegally and receive rights, health care, or a short cut to becoming a citizen. I understand people are looking for a better life, but we have to stop the feeling that everyone is entitled to a perfect life. We can only offer the promise of the pursuit of happiness, not the guarantee.
11. A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
Its situational was it rape or consensual, if consensual WTF. I think she needed some better parental super vision. The other thought is that girls in the olden days were, so it’s not something that is happening for the first time in history. Currently there is no way a 12 year old could support a baby, but she did carry it and again I believe everyone has the right to choice their own life paths..
12. Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
Yes. For the beginning years we will face a massive rise in drinking incidents, but once the kids that grow up with this being a standard I believe you will see more responsible actions. The biggest reason part 1 is at 18 your considered an adult, should you be able to make all adult decisions. Part 2 what ever age they determine you can serve in the armed forces should also be the drinking age, if I were to go to war for my country and make it back I damned well better be able to have a drink when I get home. I respect and admire our armed services for what they do for us and should be better taken care of.
13. Should the war in Iraq be called off?
We can’t just decide were done too much now hangs in the balance. This question is not should we have went to war it’s should we call it off, like we can just reschedule for a better time. So No, should it continue would have been a better question.
14. Should assisted suicide be legal?
Shouldn’t it be our choice whether we want to continue our life, it is ours after all. Maybe we want to make sure we end it correctly and not make it worse so we would want to hire a more skilled person in this area.
15. Do you believe in spanking your children?
Yes, but not in ever case or severely.
16. Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
If someone wanted to pay me, I’m glad I have the right to make that choice. Yes, because it wouldn’t reflect my thoughts on the country and would allow me to increase the quality of living for my family.
17. Who do you think would make a better president? McCain or Obama?
I think its slim pickings this year for president, and who ever gets the job will be quite tied up due to the choices and courses of action the last president took and made. They will not be able to serve the first term near how they would like to, and will be spending most of it cleaning up. Of the two I am leaning towards McCain.
18. Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
If not this, then it will be something else. Don’t people now a days judge on anything and everything, it seems to be a part of human nature.
