Many of my family and friends ask me to help them with their computer problems and I do, but I’m no expert in it. I have found programs that work great and are very helpful and decided to keep track of them and be able to refer them to one spot I’m going to list them here with reviews.
JkDefrag – this is a hard drive defragmentation program, but the beauty is that you can set it up to run just when your screen saver is activated. This way your computer is always defraged and doesn’t take any of your time.
Email Spam Blocker – this one sounds great but I haven’t been able to use it. The reason is it cost money and I’m broke. Sounds great though.
Revo Uninstaller – This is a lot better then the standard add/remove program that comes with windows. It works better, because it uses the programs uninstall program and its afterwards to go through and let you know what was left behind and you have the option to remove them. Plus it has a handy little cross hair option for programs that don’t show up. Just point and click and boom its being uninstalled.
These next three programs are what I prefer to use, as they are all freeware and they all cover what the others lack. I run all three about once a week or so, and always check for updates.
Spybot Search & Destroy – This is one of the best spy ware removers I have found.
AVG – This is one of the best antivirus programs.
Ad-Aware – This is another anti spyware program.
